Robert asks:

In the first lesson when we bend our knees, can't I just lift up my entire foot without the extra step of raising the heel first?

Stephanie answers:

Hi Robert,

The heel is lifted first so you can feel how the body's weight is totally shifting to the right leg. That "pause" also begins to isolate and strengthen the right leg muscles. Isolating each movement is an important concept. TCE's square form is an excellent teaching tool in learning this new way to move with consciousness and being in balance with every step.
