Ask Stephanie
![]() Cheryl asks:In the past I've tried many different tai chi dvds and your program offers the best method. I appreciate your verbal directions and I'm enjoying the learning process. I've just began Lesson 3 and my balance feels abit off after I kick/extend my right leg. Thank you for having this support segment on the website. ![]() Stephanie answers:Hi Cheryl, The "Pearl of Wisdom" / Lesson 3 and is a great example of tai chi's martial art aspect. After you turn the body to the right and "karate chop" the "opponent" you're now going to gently kick the "opponent" to make sure that "person" is down for the count. Since the weight of body is on the left bent leg you can softly extend the right kneecap and lift your right heel just a few inches off the floor. You can look down the first few times your heel comes down to have the 10"-12" space between your legs. This stance is grounding and afer a few times you'll feel totally balanced. ![]() Click on a topic to read past questions and comments from other Enlighteners: |
